...at the dealership where I work. I’m stoked and totally gonna end up owning one of these. VERY smart of FIAT to finally open up franchises to existing Mopar stores without forcing them to open a new rooftop. That line of thinking and this car might just save the brand...

So I guess Miata really is the answer Fiat has been looking for.

Well done. I’m enjoying the new “Fiata” nick-name, and its acronym Fiata Is Also The Answer. Good stuff.

Wait...I hadn’t heard this....dealers that don’t have a FIAT Studio can now sell FIAT vehicles now?
Does this mean you can take FIAT vehicles to regular Chrysler dealerships for maintenance?
(I ask because there is only one FIAT dealership in my entire province...)

Yes and yes. Actually, they opened up parts quite awhile ago. I don’t think ALL Chrysler dealers will get Fiat, but now it is at least an option. Ours will be official in a little over a month.

I was actually reading in the new issue of Car and Driver that this move was more a response to slow Fiat sales in the U.S. Interested to see if this has any effect.

Is this in Canada too? (Are you in Canada...?)
I’m in Nova Scotia and we only have one dealership in the entire province, which is an hour from me (Steele FIAT). I’d love to get a new 500 at some point, but have been hesitant due to difficulty in getting service for it.

Good news for you...The suits from corporate apparently said their goal is a Fiat dealership every 40-60 miles or so.

My FIAT dealership is conjoined to a Chrysler dealership and uses its service department. Taking it in for service is a nightmare.

On the other hand, as soon as I buy a 17, the 18 will come out with 50 more horsepower. Then the 19 will have a Hellcat.

Well at least they’ll be selling something other than the 500 in the US. like $&*%, eventually!! I had to tell people that they don’t only sell small cars that look like weird Minis (yes I have a lot of non-oppo people where I live)

IIRC, in Canada, Fiats can be serviced at any Chrysler dealer.
